Target Clearance....Oh How I Love Thee!

My neighbor and I went to our Target at 8:30 this morning. She went in first so I wouldn't have to get my boys out. I was on pins and needles waiting for her call! Finally she called and said that we had the place to ourselves and the toys were marked down! :) I was so excited and couldn't believe that we were first to get the goods! Even while we were shopping, we still had the place to ourselves. Only one other customer shopped with us...so thankfully no mob scene that I had envisioned.

My favorite deals were a Playmobil police car for $4.98 and the police station for $8.74! I also found a money maker! The Toy Story 3 Space Shooter Target Game was marked to $3.77, and there was a $5 coupon attached. I figured the cashier would adjust it down to $3.77, but nope! She scanned it, and it went through with no beeps! Woohoo! I spent $59.02 for $256 worth of toys. I used my Target card for the extra 5% off.

So, now I've got plenty for my oldest birthday gifts, plus more for his friends' birthdays throughout the year.

Berry Beautiful

Don't these strawberries look simply divine? Well, let me tell you, they taste simply divine! Nothing beats a fresh picked berry, and these are fresh from Tidwell Farms in Spring City this morning. Big, beautiful, and deliciously ripe--there's no better way to eat a strawberry!

I'm going to freeze some, as I have 4 quarts. That is, if they make it to the freezer. We're all eating them now....

Coupon Convert

I've finally got my mother-in-law on board! She has heard me go on and on about coupons and saving money for 2 years now, and she has been interested in learning from me. Well, last night she got her chance. I gave a coupon class at Mountain Creek Baptist Church (my first class ever!), and she brought 5 friends from her office.
Tonight I took her to CVS to get her ExtraCare card. Wayne, the manager at the Rivermont CVS, is AWESOME! He got her signed up, and low and behold, he handed her the card AND $9.50 in ECBs! I asked him how that happened....The cashiers had been using that card to scan when customers didn't have an ExtraCare card, so when he signed her up, the ECBs printed out. Well, of course we had to make up a plan right then and there!
Here's what she got:

Scott paper towels $4.99
-$1/1 March All You mag

Softsoap Body Wash $2.99

Green bag tag $.99

CVS reusable bag $.99

Skippy Peanut Butter $1.67

-$9.50 ECBs

Total OOP: $1.33!

She was super excited! She used the $2 ECB from the body wash to buy another body wash! I think she paid $1.27 for that one. So about $2.50 oop for her at CVS tonight.

Then we went over to Walgreens where she picked up a package of the Plackers flossers for $2 and received the $2 RR. We drew up a plan for her to use the RR after I get my coupons from thecouponclippers tomorrow. She'll need a coupon I ordered.

Isn't she cute???

Seventh Generation products at Target

I just came home from Target where I spent only $1.51 on 2 Seventh Generation muti-purpose sprays! They were on sale for $2.69 each. I used 2 $1/1 coupons found here, and 2 $1/1 coupons I ordered from www.thecouponsclippers.com. The sale ends today, but you can still save $1 each if you print the store coupons.
